Leaf wax formation and cold stress response in cabbage

This project investigates the genetic control of leaf wax in cabbage and the effects of cold stress on lipid metabolism. We identify BoCER1 as a key gene for wax formation and show that cold stress promotes the conversion of alpha linolenic acid to jasmonic acid. The results provide insight into cabbage stress adaptation and support breeding of improved varieties.
