To investigate whether rat adult hepatocytes would exhibit different characteristics dependent on their ploidy statuses, we compared the transcriptome profile of 2c, 4c and 8c hepatocytes by mRNA microarray. Rat hepatocytes were isolated from adult female rats (5-14 weeks old). Hepatocytes were stained with Hoechst33342, and then 2c, 4c and 8c hepatocytes were sorted by FACS Aria II or FACS Aria III. Five independent experiments were performed.
