The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the principal species responsible for many industrial-scale fermentations such as those employed in baking, brewing, and winemaking. The S. cerevisiae N85 has traditional been used for brewing the Chinese Yellow Rice Wine. We report the11,827,302-bp draft genome sequence of S. cerevisiae N85, which contains 19,888,201 reads, 5521 predicted coding sequences, and a G+C content of 38.3%.
