This series comprises letter press copies of estimates prepared by the Ways and Works Branch of the Victorian Railways for various proposed capital works and maintenance projects.The estimates are for various projects at various locations around the state, such as alterations to trackwork or proposed sidings. Each estimate details the estimated costs involved in each project. Many of the estimates have been signed by the Station & General Service Engineer.Some of the estimates are for works to be carried out in conjunction with other agencies or with companies (eg, the construction of a siding), with a proportion of the estimated costs to be borne by another party to the Victorian Railways:
