Raḥîmâ This manuscript is now IO Islamic 1728 in the India Office collections. [metadata: Hermann Ethé, Catalogue of Persian Manuscripts in the Library of the India Office, 2 vols. (Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1, number 2844 here with notations and hyperlinks]. 1728 Raḥîmâ (رحيما). A poem on ethical and religious questions, in the form of a series of mukhammasât, a vademecum of practical wisdom, by Muḥibb-alḥaḳḳ, who completed it on the عيد الفطر or festival of the breaking of the fast, i.e. the 1st Shawwâl, A.H. 1233 (A.D. 1818, Aug. 4), see fol. 22b, last mukhammas (styled تأريخ كتاب و اسم مؤلّف ). Beginning: بحمد الهى زبان كن روان – رحيم است دستار روزى رسان Dated, on fol. 23a, the 20th of Ṣafar, A.H. 1240 (A.D. 1824, Oct. 14). On fol. 23b there is added by the same Muḥibb-alḥaḳḳ a ḳaṣîdah in honour of Mr. Jenkins (مستر جنكنس ), in which, apart from the chief rhyme, running through the whole poem, inside each bait a special and always varying rhyme is found in three repetitions, viz. in the middle of the first hemistich, at the end of the first hemistich, and in the middle of the second hemistich.
