chickens were randomly divided into control group, MG group, MG + baicalin group and MG + doxycycline group. On day 8, MG group, MG+baicalin group and MG + doxycycline group chickens were challenged by 109 color change unit MG in air sac as reported previously1; on day 15, chickens in the MG+baicalin group were given orally baicalin at a dose of 450 mg/kg body weight once a day for 7 days and chickens in MG+doxycycline group were given orally doxycycline (Huachen pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Shandong, China) at 1000 g per ton-of-feed for 7 days. Chickens in control group were used for comparative purposes. All chickens were sacrificed at day 22. Feces were collected for 16S sequencing analysis.
