Gold(I)-Based Catalytic Strategies for Complex Molecule Synthesis

This thesis presents the development and application of gold(I)-catalysed strategies for constructing structurally complex carbocyclic and heterocyclic frameworks. It includes the development of a new reactivity mode through asymmetric counterion-directed gold catalysis, as well as the use of propargyl esters in gold(I) catalysis to access both polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-type products (PAHs) and valuable natural product, isoneoamphilectane.
