One molecular response to environmental challenges involves the alternative polyadenylation (APA) of mRNA. We show how hypoxia stress affects the production and fate of alternative mRNA isoforms to cooperate and fine-tune the adaptation of the Arabidopsis plants to environmental stresses using a genome-scale approach.
