Analysis of gut microbiota of chickens (Gallus gallus) via 16S rRNA sequencing

The aim of our research was to evaluate the effects of early post-hatch inoculation of a competitive exclusion (CE) product (Broilact) and the continuous feeding of a synbiotic supplement (Bacillus subtilis, Saccharomices cerevisae boulardii and inulin) during the whole fattening on the development of gut microbiota of broiler chickens. Our study focuses on the detailed changes of microbiota composition and diversity in ileal chymus and mucosa as well as in caecal chymus at four sampling times (day 7, 14, 21, 40).
