Number of medical personnel in Romania 2023

In 2023, there were over 72 thousand physicians in Romania and 21.2 thousand dentists. At the same time, 156,268 people were working in the Romanian medical system as auxiliary medical staff and over 21.7 thousand pharmaceutical chemists. However, the relatively small number of medical personnel led to only 38.2 physicians and 11.1 dentists per ten thousand inhabitants in the country as of 2023.
