A plant pathogenic oomycete Phytophthora capsici

To study the function of the Phytophthora capsici arginine methyltransferase 3 gene, we selected the P. capsici wild-type strain LT1534 as the parental strain. Utilizing the CRISPR/Cas9 method, we knocked out a gene in P. capsici that encodes for arginine methyltransferase 3 (PcPRMT3). We then conducted RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) on both the PcPRMT3 knockout mutants and the wild-type strain to analyze the gene function of PcPRMT3.
