资源简介:
The National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) shows that childhood obesity remains a concern, despite some post-COVID-19 reductions. Reducing overweight/obesity is a public health priority. Studies show parents often misclassify their child’s overweight/obesity. Without recognising it, they are unlikely to act or seek support. In England, the NCMP measures 4–5- and 10–11-year-olds annually, but parents may mistrust the results. More support is needed to help understanding and acting on this information. The MapMe intervention, a web-based tool to improve parental understanding of weight, includes Body Image Scales (BIS), healthy eating and activity guidance, information on child overweight consequences, and support options. In this study, MapMe was delivered via the NCMP results letter. This qualitative study examines data from the MapMe2 trial process evaluation which explored parents’ and local authority staff’s views of the implementation of the MapMe intervention and the acceptability of the enhanced NCMP results letter. <br>
