NDFF Zostera Monitoring

Based on the Zostera map of favourable locations by De Jong et al. (2005) and an expert judgement, 3 promising locations were selected. Zostera marina was sown on these 3 locations in September 2011. The aim of this monitoring program is to gain knowledge about Zostera marina. Initially based on the sown Zostera marina and later, possibly, based on natural growth of stable pre-sown fields of Zostera marina. Apart from these selection plots, other square kilometre plots are also examined, preferably in areas for which there is no inventory data.
