NRS-51 | Miscellaneous correspondence [Department of Agriculture]

These records comprise reports, letters received and some copies of letters sent and are mainly concerned with the establishment of a Department of Agriculture, its functions and progress during the 16 months after its inception; an Agricultural Education System; Experimental Farms. These files were found in 1926 by a clerk of the Department of Agriculture, amongst old records in the Stock Branch and were at that time re-registered with 1926 Miscellaneous registration numbers. Thus they bear their original registration number but have been bound into three volumes in order of the 1926 registration numbers. Some of these records pre-date the establishment of the Department of Agriculture and were transferred from the Mines Department to Agriculture in 1890. (4/115-17). 3 vols.
