This dataset is used to examine the prevalence of undernutrition among under-five Garo children in West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya, India, using the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure (CIAF). The purpose of the study is to provide a comprehensive assessment of child nutritional status by capturing multiple forms of anthropometric failure, including stunting, wasting, and underweight, within a single framework.Anthropometric measurements such as height and weight were collected following standard procedures, and age- and sex-specific indices were derived using internationally accepted growth references.The scope of the study is limited to under-five Garo children residing in West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya. The data may be useful for researchers, public health professionals, and policymakers.
