Marine geophysical and camera stills data from JC142 cruise to Tropic Seamount as part of the MarineE-tech project (October-December 2016).

Multi-beam bathymetry, sidescan sonar and camera stills data were acquired during MarineE-tech cruise JC142 to Tropic Seamount off the Northwest-African coast from October-December 2016. Multi-beam bathymetry data were acquired from a shipboard Kongsberg EM-120 echosounder and from an AUV (Autosub6000) Kongsberg EM-2040 echosounder. Sidescan sonar data were also acquired from the Autosub6000 AUV using an Edgetech 4200 Sidescan operating at 100 and 400 kHz. Camera stills were acquired using the ISIS ROV. These data aim to improve understanding of the processes controlling the concentration of E-tech deposits and their composition at a local scale at Tropic Seamount, and for the potential impacts of mineral recovery to be identified.
