Paradise Crow reference genome project

This BioProject contains several genomic libraries used in the publication Peona et al. "Identifying the causes and consequences of assembly gaps using a multiplatform genome assembly of a bird-of-paradise". In this project we used a combination of different sequencing and scaffolding technologies to get a high quality genome assemblies for the Paradise Crow bird-of-paradise. By doing so, we also compared the efficacy of the different sequencing technologies in getting complete genome assemblies and assembling the so-called genomic "dark matter" (mostly repeats and GC-rich regions).
