The compound Y3Co8Sn4 holds a unique position among itinerant electron ferrimagnets. Its structure, belonging to the polar hexagonal space group P63mc with a polar axis along the [001] direction, makes it a magnetoelectric compound. This lack of inversion symmetry results in a net electric polarization. Below its Curie temperature of 62 K, this ferrimagnetic compound exhibits a single magnetic monodomain. This characteristic makes it particularly suitable for study through X-ray non-reciprocal Linear Dichroism (nr-XMLD) and X-ray magnetochiral dichroism (XMchiD). Furthermore, the intermetallic compound Y3Co8Sn4 serves as a platform for emergent phenomena, such as the unconventional anomalous Hall effect. Many of these properties can be understood through topological concepts (Weyl nodes at or near the Fermi level). Therefore, this proposal aims to further explore the synergy between topological magnetism and non-trivial electronic bands, which is crucial for spintronic applications.
