资源简介:
This study aimed to improve our understanding of resistance in sweetpotato in Japan to the widespread root-knot nematode (RKN). The complex genetics of sweetpotato have, to some degree, limited previous research and understanding of its resistance. However, improved resistance to pests such as RKN is required to improve the economic stability of sweetpotato production and improve productivity. We have utilized a newly developed analytical method, genome wide association studies, that uses multiple-dose markers to assess the auto-polyploidy of species. We performed an association analysis for RKN-SP2 resistance which occurs in areas with high sweetpotato production in Japan. This study could serve as a model for the identification of genomic regions that control agricultural traits and the elucidation of their effects, and is expected to greatly advance marker-assisted breeding and association studies in polyploid crop species.
