Maximum height of mountain forests abruptly decreases above an elevation breakpoint

Dataset for the manuscript "Maximum height of mountain forests abruptly decreases above an elevation breakpoint". The dataset includes, for the whole Spanish Pyrenees, information on maximum tree height, terrain elevation, tree species composition and ancillary information on terrain aspect and slope, continentality, and several soil-related variables as gathered from SoilGrids. The dataset contains two data frames, one that defines maximum tree height with percentile 90, and a second one with percentile 95. Each row corresponds to a 20x20m cell in a grid covering the Spanish Pyrenees
