Data for the research article titled \"Empirical evidence of the impact of mobility on property crimes during the first two waves of the COVID-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu, India.\" The data contain daily counts of property offences in the state of Tamil Nadu, India and Chennai city. Upon a reasonable request, the data are available from the corresponding author after getting permission from the State Crime Records Bureau, Tamil Nadu Police Department.
