The data was generated under the U-PIK project, which aimed to conduct a ring trial to validate and implement the PIK3CA mutation testing in several Portuguese centers, decentralizing it and optimizing its quality at national level. 20 samples from the 16 patients with advanced ER+/HER2- breast carcinoma were sequenced on the Illumina NextSeq 500 System, using Illumina’s TruSight Hereditary Cancer Panel, and the other 20 samples were sequenced on the ION Torrent with Oncomine FOCUS Assay.
