Portrait of a young man wearing traditional sheep stomach hat with the hair tied into a bun at the back and showing scarification designs on the arm. He was a workman at Chogoria and probably of the Mwimbi people who lived on the lands to the east of Mount Kenya. ❧ Image from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the early years of the Chogoria mission, established near Mt Kenya in 1922 and run by Dr Irvine, ministering to the Chuka and Mwimbi peoples.
