Soil-Water Constraints on the Cooling Performance of Urban Green Infrastructure: Data and Code

This dataset and code release accompanies the manuscript “Soil-Water Constraints on the Cooling Performance of Urban Green Infrastructure: Evidence for Climate-Resilient Landscape Planning.” It contains a frozen park–date panel for 19 urban green-infrastructure sites in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye; the quality-screened primary analysis panel; the 19-site inventory with field-observed typology and qualitative irrigation class; a daily ERA5-Land precipitation series for 1991–2025; a variable dictionary; expected model outputs; and Python code that reproduces the principal fixed-effects, temporal-sensitivity, exploratory site-classification, and precipitation analyses. The primary analytical sample contains 1,806 observations from 19 sites and 101 Landsat dates during May–September 2018–2025. Irrigation information is qualitative and does not include watering dates or volumes. All sites share one representative ERA5-Land grid-cell history on a given date. The release does not include raw satellite imagery, credentials, or the pooled plant list, because the botanical records lack species-to-site linkage and were not used in the models.
