Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub Endangered Ecosystem Awareness Project

This project aims to improve resilience, through removing on site Weeds of National Significance (Boneseed, Bitou bush and Lantana) and encouraging natural regeneration of the Endangered Ecological Community of Eastern Sydney Banksia scrub on St Michael’s Golf Course and to improve the understanding the local community has of this fragmented and threatened bushland. This will be achieved through reducing processes that threaten bushland. Activities such as planting bare areas, removal of invasive weeds, erosion control of on-site waterways and replacement planting will be partnered with development of interpretive signage and flyers for visitors as well as information days and documenting weed removal and vegetation management.
