Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jece.2026.123808 This repository contains the raw experimental data generated during laboratory experiments investigating methane emissions associated with the degradation of selected microplastic materials under controlled aquatic environmental conditions. The repository contains: Raw experimental data (Raw_data.xlsx) Data dictionary describing all variables and measurement units (Data_dictionary.xlsx) README file describing the dataset and its structure (README.pdf) The dataset has been prepared according to the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles to facilitate transparency, reproducibility and reuse of the published research.
