To understand the mechanisms of sexual behaviour in rams, transcriptomic sequencing technology was used to identify differentially expressed genes in peripheral blood We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from blood in rams with different sexual behaviours, intending to identify in vivo sexual behaviour biomarkers Overall design: Blood transcriptome of 12 Rasa Aragonesa rams (6 sexually active (A) and 6 not active (NA) for each tissue) were generated by Novaseq 6000 platform EdgeR software was used to detect DEGs between active A and NA rams Three genes identified to be differentially expressed in the blood by RNA-Seq were chosen for RT-qPCR validation
