RNA-seq data for salivary glands and midgut sections from adult Nezara viridula on corn and green bean diets

Transcriptomic data was obtained from adults of the stink bug Nezara viridula to complement biochemical enzymatic activity analysis performed for digestive enzymes. Pooled reads from all sample types were used for de novo assembly of a reference transcriptome. After mapping reads to reference, differential expression was performed between the different tissues of the same diet or between the same tissue in different diets. Overall design: Tissues were collected from adults fed on corresponding diet for 24 hours post molt. Each tissue (salivary glands, M1, M2, M3) was dissected from 4-10 individuals.
