The data are about the effect of oviposition delay on early reproductive effort (egg number, egg size represented as volume in µm3, and offspring sex ratio in the first clutch) and offspring fitness parameters (development time in days, survival to adulthood, adult size as forewing length in µm, and longevity in days) of Kelly’s citrus thrips, Pezothrips kellyanus (Thysanoptera: Thripidae). Data sets represent these fitness parameters for three mother types with different mating status (virgin V; mated M) and offspring sex ratio (mated females with male-biased offspring M♂; mated females with female-biased offspring M♀), and fitness of four offspring types (sons of V; sons of M♂; sons and daughters of M♀). The treatments are control (7 day old mother), one day (8 day old mother) and two day (9 day old mother) oviposition delays.
