Genomic and molecular identification of genes contributing to the caspofungin paradoxical effect in Aspergillus fumigatus

Aspergillus fumigatus is a potentially deadly opportunistic fungal pathogen. Caspofungin is a second-line antifungal drug used to treat A. fumigatus infection. However, Caspofungin Paradoxical Effect (CPE) has been observed where at higher concentrations of caspofungin, the fungal growth rate increases instead of decreases. In this project, A. fumigatus isolates were sequenced for investigating the genetic contributors of CPE.
