Dangerous Harbor Project - Lancaster County - Reel 260 - Estate Settlements, 1653-1850 - TIFFs 1-31

This dataset includes 31 TIFF files showing estate settlements from Lancaster County in Virginia. They were created in the wake of family deaths to settle asset distribution and debts. These documents were collected in association with the Dangerous Harbor Project which used courthouse documents to identify escaped unfree laborers in the 17th century Chesapeake and the punishments associated with their escape. <br>To learn more about this project, please go to the Dangerous Harbor Website.
