Fresh Ulva sp. (green algae), Saccharina sp. (brown algae), Grateloupia sp. (red algae), Gelidium sp. (red algae), surrounding seawater, and sediment samples were collected at Weihai, China (122.12 N, 37.56 E) on 4 sampling dates in 2018-2019. To investigate the bacterial communities, 16S rRNA genes were amplified from extracted DNA and sequenced using primers targeting the V3-V4 region.
