The comparison of skin microbiomes between healthy individuals and patients with systemic sclerosis

The comparison of skin microbiomes between healthy individuals and patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a critical area of research, particularly to understand how alterations in microbial communities may influence the disease's progression and skin manifestations. In this study, the skin microbiomes of both healthy individuals and patients with systemic sclerosis were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene-based metagenomic sequencing. This approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of the bacterial composition on the skin, identifying the diversity and relative abundance of bacterial taxa present in these distinct populations.
