This excel file contains data on forest change, food and energy provision, as well as greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture, forestry and energy use in Austria 1830-1910, and assessments of five counterfactual scenarios in the absence of specific forest relief processes. The data were used to create figures 1a and b, 2a, b, c, and d, 3a, b, c, and d, and 4a and b in the manuscript "What enabled the forest transition?
