资源简介:
The content program of the Open Session of Latin American and Caribbean region at the IFLA World Library and Information Conference has being organized, since 1987, by the Standing Committee of IFLA LAC Section. The LAC Section used some years the strategic of open call for papers to anyone interested or others years inviting the participation of national libraries associations from LAC countries. Looking at all IFLA WLIC proceedings since 1978, identifying the authors presenting papers at IFLA LAC Session, and using the social network analysis (ARS), this study had the purpose to verify the characteristics of authorship (countries, co-authors and number of papers and years participation) and to understand if there is a connexion between authors and countries at different levels (national, regional and international). RESULTS: From the period between 1987 and 2015, there are: 129 papers were presented; 125 authors from 24 countries (2 undeclared countries); and 4 countries outside LAC. Predominance of individual authorship. There is a lack of cooperation between countries inside or outside the region. Some members of the board of the IFLA LAC Standing Committee present good performance and cooperative work. At this point, it is not possible to think of the IFLA LAC Section as a social network. It is suggested to start national, regional and / or international cooperation processes.
