资源简介:

This dataset contains the raw experimental time-series data used to quantify the effect of different testing gases on the non-destructive integral leak testing of polyethylene (PE100RC) pipe assemblies using the pressure decay method. Dataset Content The files include continuous time-series records of relative pressure drop and temperature changes measured over a 900-second testing phase. Data is provided for five different testing media: Nitrogen (N2) Air Argon (Ar) Carbon dioxide (CO2) Propane-butane mixture (PB) Experimental Configurations For each testing gas, the dataset contains measurement profiles for three distinct configurations: Reference State: Pipe assembly without any artificial defects (background leak verification). Artificial Defect No. 1: Assembly integrated with a capillary defect ($\varnothing$ 0.13 × 100 mm) representing fully developed viscous friction. Artificial Defect No. 2: Assembly integrated with a capillary defect ($\varnothing$ 0.13 × 20 mm) dominated by entrance/exit boundary pressure losses. Measurement Apparatus Details Initial test pressure: Approx. 5000 Pa Data logging: Ahlborn Almemo 2590-4AS datalogger Recording step: 30 seconds Recorded parameters: Time (s), Relative/Gauge Pressure (Pa), Ambient Temperature (°C), and Internal Gas Temperature (°C). This dataset serves as the foundational data for calculating integral leak rates and demonstrating the critical influence of dynamic gas viscosity on leak test interpretations, particularly in the context of transitioning gas infrastructure to low-viscosity alternatives like hydrogen.
