A one-day version of the katagami workshop run at Middlesex University, which Sarah had the opportunity to run at Emory University, Atlanta, US. Students and staff from the art and design faculty drew from facsimiles of katagami provided by MoDA, and explored stencil cutting, printing with rice paste, and dyeing with indigo. Participants agreed that both drawing and making with traditional materials had given them a new perspective on the katagami. Photos show the studio and participants at work.
