Carbapenemase-Producing gram-negative bacteria in Djibouti city, Djibouti

We investigated for the first time the epidemiology of Carbapenemase-Producing gram-negative bacteria (CP-GNB) in Djibouti city, Republic of Djibouti, East Africa.The resolution offered by WGS provided evidence of the circulation of at least three CP-GNB epidemic clones in Djibouti city. In addition, the high quality of assembly offered by the combination of short and long read technologies for all samples enabled to precisely decipher the patterns of intraspecies and interspecies exchanges of MGEs occurring among CP-GNB populations.
