Hyperspectral Images for Local Illumination in Natural Scenes 2015

This Dataset comprises 30 hyperspectral radiance images of natural scenes in which small neutral probe spheres were embedded to provide estimates of local illumination spectra. The 30 natural scenes are from the Minho region of Portugal and were acquired during late spring and summer of 2002 and 2003. The sky in most of the scenes was clear but in five it was overcast with cloud.The file Montage_of_Scenes.pdf shows thumbnail RGB images of all 30 scenes.Each zipped file, e.g. “Bom_Jesus_Bush.zip”, contains a hyperspectral radiance image in Matlab MAT format, dimensions approximately 1344 pixels × 1024 pixels and spectral range 400, 410, ..., 720 nm, along with a BMP colour image rendered from the radiance image and an Information document for the scene, which includes the scene's geographic location.Padding artefacts may be visible at the image edges in some scenes and in three of the scenes, Sameiro Forest, Gualtar Orange Trees, and Ruivães Ruin, chromatic artifacts in the processed images are present due to movement within the scenes during image acquisition.These hyperspectral images were acquired solely for analyzing spatial variations in local illumination and should be distinguished from similar images without multiple embedded spheres, e.g. here and here, used for other purposes.These data are for personal use only.
