It was reported that the SCNT embryos which complete the first cell division sooner are more likely to develop to the blastocyst stage, suggesting that early-dividing SCNT embryos have better developmental competence. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. Therefore, single-embryo RNA-seq of pig SCNT embryos which are early-dividing (24 h post-activation) and late-dividing (36 h post-activation) was performed.
