Boreout am Arbeitsplatz – mehr als Unterforderung, Langeweile und Desinteresse? Boreout at work – more than underchallenge, boredom and disinterest?

Boreout wurde von den Autoren Rothlin/Werder als neuer Begriff für Unterforderung, Langeweile und Desinteresse am Arbeitsplatz eingeführt. Unter anderem beabsichtigen sie, Boreout im Arbeitsumfeld zu legalisieren. Das Phänomen mit tiefgründigerem Blick und auf verschiedenen Ebenen beleuchtet, hat jedoch weit mehr Einflussfaktoren als das Verhalten von Mitarbeitenden und der Führungsstil von Führungskräften. Soll Boreout im erweiterten Sinne erkannt und dagegen etwas unternommen werden, muss die Auseinandersetzung mit Ressourcen stattfinden. Das Ressourcenkonzept (Petzold, 2007) bietet weitreichende Möglichkeiten dazu. Diese Arbeit beschreibt einerseits die Erweiterung der Boreout-Elemente aus Sicht der Integrativen Supervision und andererseits wird das Ressourcenkonzept als Praxis umgesetzt. The term „boreout“ was introduced by the writers Rothlin/Werder as a new word meaning underchallenge, boredom, lack of interest in the work environment. Amongst other things they intended to legalise the term boreout on the job. Looking at this phenomenon from a holistic point of view and taking into consideration different levels of awareness it was noticed that there was a significant influence on the behaviour of employees and the leadership style of managers.If boreout is supposed to be noticed and worked against on a broader level there has to occur a clear focus on ressources. The resourcing concept (Petzold, 2007) offers a wide range of possibilities to deal with this.
