This dataset encompasses monthly and annual average sediment discharge data of hydrological stations across the Yellow River Basin. It covers data from 108 hydrological stations in the basin during 2002–2012, including monthly average sediment discharge, annual average sediment discharge, total annual sediment load, annual sediment transport modulus, annual maximum daily average sediment discharge, and the occurrence time of the annual maximum daily sediment discharge. The dataset is divided into five distinct data entities: 1) Monthly Average Sediment Discharge Dataset of the Upper Section of the Upper Yellow River Basin; 2) Monthly Average Sediment Discharge Dataset of the Lower Section of the Upper Yellow River Basin; 3) Monthly Average Sediment Discharge Dataset of the Upper Section of the Middle Yellow River Basin; 4) Monthly Average Sediment Discharge Dataset of the Lower Section of the Middle Yellow River Basin; 5) Monthly Average Sediment Discharge Dataset of the Lower Yellow River Basin. The units are as follows: Month; annual average sediment discharge: kg/s; total annual sediment load: 10⁴ t; annual sediment transport modulus: t/km²; annual maximum daily sediment discharge: kg/s. This dataset was compiled based on the annual average sediment discharge comparison tables from each year's *Hydrological Data of the Yellow River Basin*, published by the Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China.
