Brain Invaders 2013a

P300 dataset from a Brain Invaders experiment in 2013. Dataset following the setup from [1]_. **Dataset Description** This dataset concerns an experiment carried out at GIPSA-lab in Grenoble using the Brain Invaders P300-based Brain-Computer Interface [1]. The recordings were done on 24 subjects in total. Subjects 1 to 7 participated in 8 sessions and the others only did one session. Each session consisted in a NonAdaptive and an Adaptive experimental condition, which had a Training (calibration) phase and an Online phase. For both conditions, the data from the Training phase was used for classifying the trials on the Online phase, which served as a feedback for the user. However, in the Adaptive experimental condition, the new trials available during the Online phase were also used for the classification. Because of the experimental setup of the Brain Invaders paradigm, there is 1 Target trial to 5 NonTarget trials (i.e., the classes are unbalanced). This means that for quantifying the performance of a classification method using this dataset one should prefer the AUC score instead of accuracy. Data were acquired with a sampling frequency of 512 Hz and using 16 electrodes at positions FP1, FP2, F5, AFz, F6, T7, Cz, T8, P7, P3, Pz, P4, P8, O1, Oz, O2 according to the 10/20 international system, using as reference the left ear-lobe.
