This dataset contains the data used in "Thermal inheritance controls necking patterns of a marginal rift: Insight from the Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea", including: high-resolution uninterpreted seismic profiles (seismic line 1–10), structural map of top-basement (Tg), and residual thickness map of two syn-rift phase. It also contains the Mesozic igneous ages within the southeastern South China and northern South China Sea, and time-depth samples from wells used to fit time-depth functions in Qiongdongnan Basin.
