In mammals, spermatogonial cells are undifferentiated male germ cells in testes that exit quiescence after birth, and self-renew or differentiate to produce spermatogenic cells and functional sperm across life. However, what drives this developmental transition at the transcriptional and chromatin level is still poorly understood.
