Plant-level energy demand, production and carbon dioxide emissions for European industry in 2023

Plant-level dataset of European industrial energy demand, production and CO2 emissions for 2023, covering the EU-27 plus the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland. 4,488 installations across 31 sectors; nine energy carriers at facility and NUTS-2 granularity; production tonnages; a per-installation decomposition of verified CO2 emissions; typed provenance and two quality axes on every record. National energy-balance totals are conserved exactly by construction. Produced by release v0.4.0 of the open-source IndustryForge pipeline; build of record 2023_20260930-0758 (96 automated checks: 75 pass, 16 warn, 5 not applicable, 0 fail). The zip preserves the immutable version directory (Parquet artefacts + manifest.json + qa_report.json); sources.csv is the machine-readable inventory of every input source; the column-by-column data dictionary is included. A companion Data Descriptor is submitted to Scientific Data. This version changes the data relative to the previous one (2023_20260907-1114, pipeline v0.3.0): it is a new version, not a correction. The pipeline's CHANGELOG lists what moved and why. Later releases, including a planned multi-year (2019-2024) extension, will appear as new versions under the same concept DOI (10.5281/zenodo.21979416), which always resolves to the latest version; cite this record's version DOI to pin this exact build.
