North Carolina Maritime Voyages, 1769–1783: Port Roanoke Customs Records and Admiralty Prize Papers as a GIS Dataset

A GIS-ready dataset of 273 voyages centered on North Carolina ports, 1769–1783, supporting the article Mapping Revolutionary Waters. Combines 112 pre-war Port Roanoke customs records (1774-1775 exports; 1769-1771 imports, volume titled 1768-1771), transcribed from NC Digital Collections IIIF images, with 161 wartime Admiralty Prize Papers catalogue records (HCA 32, The National Archives, UK) mentioning North Carolina, 1775-1783. Includes 200 mappable voyage routes as GeoJSON, a CSV export, and a port gazetteer. Coordinates are modern approximations for historical ports; five vague destinations were deliberately left unmapped.
