Quickbird satellite captured this image data product on 25 August 2002. DigitalGlobe, a commercial supplier of high-resolution satellite imagery launched this satellite on 18 October 2001. QuickBird collects the highest resolution commercial imagery of Earth including panchromatic imagery at 60 to 70 centimetre resolution and multispectral imagery at 2.4- and 2.8-metre resolutions. Total cloud coverage percentage is 0 percent, providing 100 percent ground visibility. Image covers an area of 5 x 5 kilometres and is located approximately 30 kilometres east/southeast of al Qamishli, Syria. The small settlement of Choueira Bichriye can be seen on the image. This multi-spectral image has been primarily used as a test sample for research to locate and map archaeological sites (Tells) in this part of the Jazira region of Syria, as well as natural and anthropomorphic landscape features. This Quickbird image dataset was captured on 25 August 2002. It represents a multi-spectral image with 2.4 x 2.4 resolution. Total cloud coverage percentage is 0 percent, providing 100 percent ground visibility. Spatial Reference System of the Dataset: WGS84. Aerial or Satellite Imagery. This dataset was first accessioned in the EDINA ShareGeo Open repository on 2010-06-30 and migrated to Edinburgh DataShare on 2017-02-20.
