Purpose: The experiment aimed to elucidate possible global effects of Nup60 K467 acetylation on transcription in S.cerevisiae. Result: Neither acetyl-mimic nor deacetyl-mimic mutations in Nup60K467 cause major shifts in expression profile. Overall design: In order to learn whether Nup60K467 acetylation plays a general role in transcription in budding yeasts we compared WT cells with cells expressing Nup60 with point acetyl mimic mutation (lysine 467 substituted with asparaginine, Nup60K467N) or a mutation mimicking constitutive deacetylation at this position (lysine 467 substituted with arginine, Nup60K467R). Each strain is present in 6 replicates.
