Phylogenetic analysis of native Korean Iris

Together with traditional method such as Sanger sequencing method we implemented high-throughput sequencing using NGS technology to build the chloroplast genomes of 15 native Korean Iris species and predicted genes in the genomes. With published genomes I. gatesii and I. sanguinea, we could successfully construct bayesian phylogenetic tree showing clear speciation among the sequenced samples. Our result demonstrates not only the reported speciations but also that of ambiguous relationships that are supported by the majority of genes in chloroplast genome.
